01 · CURRENT SELF
My role and interests today
Today, I develop and maintain backend systems in a Japanese SI environment, focusing on understanding under-documented legacy systems and turning that understanding into safe, maintainable change.
- Current role
- A software engineer developing and maintaining backend systems in a Japanese systems-integration (SI) client environment
- Problem focus
- Understanding the structure and business logic of legacy systems with limited documentation, then connecting that understanding to new APIs and data-processing logic
- Working lens
- Connecting requirements, data flow, and the result a user encounters as one system, even when the domain changes
02 · CAREER SUMMARY
A career built around solving problems
My career is not defined by a single title. It is a body of experience built by solving problems across different technologies and environments.
Project span
2020 — Present
Core areas
- System architecture and backend
- Data pipelines and automation
- 3D graphics and interactive experience
Selected outcomes
- Delivered projects across construction and civil engineering, media art, public data, e-commerce, and a Japanese systems-integration environment.
- Received an Excellence Award in the Seoul Big Data Contest for a public parking analysis project.
- Reduced image acquisition latency in the media-art system from 206ms to 13ms.
03 · ENGINEERING PHILOSOPHY
Three decision principles shaped by practice
Across projects, I have learned to trace causes to their source, turn repetition into structure, and treat performance as a design concern from the start.
-
Root Cause Analysis
I look beyond the visible fault, trace bottlenecks and existing structures, and revisit the conditions that produced the problem.
I traced a bottleneck in the image-acquisition path and improved it with multiprocessing, and currently reverse-engineer legacy systems to recover their business logic.
-
Automation as Structure
I move repetitive work away from individual dexterity and into reusable tools and pipelines.
Projects include automated UI conversion, data collection and processing pipelines, and database-driven UI generation.
-
Performance by Design
I treat performance as a design constraint when shaping data flow and execution structure, not as a final tuning pass.
I applied Python multiprocessing to image acquisition and designed a 3D viewer architecture adapted to WebGL.
04 · CAPABILITY MATRIX
The problems I can handle, not a list of tools
From understanding requirements and existing systems to designing data flows and building 3D interaction, I turn complex problems into systems that work.
System Architecture & Backend
I analyze requirements and existing systems, then design and implement boundaries across APIs, databases, and service logic.
- Java
- Spring Boot
- REST API
- DB2
- MySQL
- MongoDB
- SQL
Related projects
I implemented new APIs and backend logic for a legacy system in a Japanese SI project, then designed the hybrid architecture and led development for a CMS-based e-commerce site.
Data Pipelines & Automation
I design data flows from collection through processing and delivery, and turn repetitive work into automated structures.
- Python
- AWS Lambda
- AWS S3
- DynamoDB
- WebSocket
- C# Reflection
Related projects
I built urban-data ETL, real-time image processing, and database-driven UI generation flows.
Interactive 3D & Experience
I connect data and user input to visual and sensory interaction in 3D spaces.
- Unity
- C#
- WebGL
- VR
- Brain API
- 3D Visualization
Related projects
I designed and implemented construction and railway visualization, brainwave-driven VR, and real-time media-art content.

06 · PRESENT AND DIRECTION
From current practice to the next experience
Today I focus on making safe changes in legacy systems; next, I want to connect robust architecture and data processing to 3D experiences people can directly perceive.
Present
My current work keeps reinforcing a practical lesson: in under-documented legacy environments, stable change begins by reading code, data, and business rules together.
Direction
I want to keep connecting the reliability of architecture and data processing to experiences people can directly perceive through 3D and interaction.
